Some background

The website was created in September 2019 by Spatial Foresight on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (BMI) and the Federal Institute for Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR). Throughout the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the website served as a significant means of dissemination and participation during the renewing process and preparation of the informal ministerial meeting in December 1st 2020, a milestone, adopting the Territorial Agenda 2030.

As of the first semester of 2021, the website has been managed and updated by the Directorate-General for Territory (DGT), Ministry of Environment and Climate Action (MAAC), under the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The focus was now on improving the visibility and awareness of the Territorial Agenda, developing the newly redesigned #TerritorialAgenda website as the most critical element of communication.

Going forward under the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and through the forthcoming Presidencies, we are engaged in this collective undertaking and will continue to update the website with current events, publications, and resources.

Stay tuned.
